Mark Robinson Elevated to Partner at Great Range Capital

Mark Robinson - Managing DirectorA lot has happened since Great Range Capital was founded in 2010, and Mark Robinson has been around for nearly every bit of it. Having joined the firm in 2011 shortly after its inception, he’s played an integral role in all areas of the firm’s development and that is why we’re so pleased to share that he has been elevated to the role of Partner.

A Kansas City native and graduate of the University of Kansas, Mark began his career focused on healthcare investment banking at Piper Jaffray (now Piper Sandler), a leading middle market investment bank in Minneapolis. Subsequent to Piper he took an investing role with Wind Point Partners, a generalist private equity firm in Chicago with, at the time, approximately $2.5 billion under management. However, he and his wife (also a KC-native) always desired to return to Kansas City and jumped at the opportunity to join Great Range Capital at the ground floor.

This clearly isn’t Mark’s first promotion at GRC. After starting as an Associate, Mark was successively promoted to Vice President, Principal and Managing Director before his recent elevation to Partner. Correspondingly, his responsibilities have also expanded through the years to include not only investments and oversight, but also key operational and strategic aspects of the firm. As a Partner, Mark will continue such work alongside Ryan Sprott and Paul Maxwell (founders and Managing Partners of GRC). His current and former board appointments at GRC include Roofed Right America, Salon Service Group, GP Industries, FairWave Coffee Collective, Realm Companies, Fairbank Equipment and HeartLand.

“It’s been incredibly rewarding to have had a hand in growing and shaping GRC from the beginning,” Mark detailed, “and I couldn’t be more excited to continue working alongside Ryan, Paul and the rest of the team in achieving future successes.”

“It’s truly humbling that someone of Mark’s caliber has been committed to GRC from the beginning,” said Ryan. “He’s an essential part of this firm, and we are thrilled to recognize him as a Partner.”
