Market Ambassador Annual Meeting; Business, BBQ and Boulevard Beer

Great Range Capital held its annual Market Ambassador meeting in early fall to bring together the team for a day of working topped off with a little bit of fun.

The day kicked off with an update on GRC, including portfolio companies, new business as well as industry insights and trends.  Each Market Ambassador shared what’s going on in their marketplace and potential opportunities for GRC to consider.  This knowledge sharing spurred great ideas between the group and provided a list of potential investments to explore.  Exactly what the group was developed to do.

From there, the group moved to a private tour at Boulevard Brewery. What a tour!  There’s nothing that this group loves more than to learn about a unique and compelling business story.  Our guide, Ron, provided a deep understanding of the history and importance that the brewery represents for Kansas City.  Even better? Each 45-minute tour ends with a sample in the Tasting Room.  We happily obliged.

GRC Market Ambassador, Jim Bishop shared, “I really enjoyed learning about the history of Boulevard Brewing.  It is impressive to see how a guy with an idea and a passion turned that into a global business.  That is a story any entrepreneur can appreciate.  I also didn’t mind sampling the wares and I was particularly fond of the Tank 7.”

After we finished at Boulevard, the next logical stop on a KC tour… BBQ.  The team visited Jack Stack Freight House located in the KC Crossroads, Kansas City’s art district, for a taste of the best BBQ in the country. We sampled wings, rings and burnt ends to name a few.

What a day!  The highlight was just being with an outstanding group of people who are the best in the business.  Sharing stories and building relationships.

Paul Maxwell, Managing Partner, said, “Our Market Ambassador Program is unique in the marketplace and sets Great Range Capital apart.  We could never know their markets like they do. They are well-connected and invested in their communities.  That value is immeasurable.  The bonus is that they are also a great bunch of guys and we really enjoy spending time together”

Until next year!
