What’s in a Number?

Great Range Capital celebrates its 25th acquisitionGRC 25

We’re born and bred Midwesterners, so horn-tooting doesn’t come naturally to us. However, we recently reached a milestone in the life of Great Range Capital—the firm’s 25th acquisition—and a bit of celebrating feels right. Perhaps it’s because we recognize that we aren’t alone in this achievement.

When we look at GRC’s portfolio, past and present, we see more than just a number. We see entrepreneurs who were brave enough to create and nurture 25 unique companies. We see leaders and teams who’ve built not only best-in-class products and services, but rich cultures and histories as well. And we see businesses that give back to their communities and contribute to their respective industries.

“Our portfolio is personal by design,” says Paul Maxwell, Managing Partner. “We established Great Range Capital in the middle of the map and chose to focus on Midwestern companies in part because we want to look at faces, not just spreadsheets. At the heart of each one of these acquisitions is a relationship, and we’re honored to have been able to work with and learn from so many incredible people over the past decade.”

Some of these phenomenal people are on our own investment team, which has grown from two people in 2011 to 10 people in 2022. And others are a part of our growing network of Market Ambassadors and Industry Advisors.

So while a number may have triggered our celebration, we’re ultimately grateful for the many people who’ve made it a reality and the ones we’ll get to meet during the next 25.
